Sixth Form Admissions
We welcome applications from students for Sixth Form places. If you wish to join the Sixth Form, you will need to complete the application form which can be found here. Please note, the form is only open to new entries during the autumn term of each academic year, until the deadline for applications.
Once we have received your application, we will contact you to invite you to come into school to chat about your chosen options and to answer any questions you might have about joining the school.
We also hold a Sixth Form specific Open Evening in the autumn term where you can meet current students and talk to them about their experiences, listen to talks from the A Level subjects you are interested in and get a feel for the school.

Yes. This is usually in the middle of January. This is because we build our timetable around Sixth Form options so we need them early! If you miss this date but would still like to join the Sixth Form, contact the school and we may still be able to help.
- 5 GCSEs at grade 6 or above plus
- 1 GCSE at grade 5 or above
- These must include English (either language or literature) and mathematics
No, absolutely not! Everyone’s entry to the Sixth Form is based on GCSE results.
Once we have your application, we will contact you to invite you into school. This is to talk through your options and answer any questions you might have about joining the school. Please don’t be nervous!
You will then be invited to take part in the Induction days after your GCSEs finish. This is a great opportunity for you to really get a flavour of what it is like in the Sixth Form. You will meet your new form, take some lessons and experience life as a Sixth Form student.
No! Everyone in Year 11 has an automatic place in the Sixth Form provided they meet the GCSE entry requirements.
It is still possible for you to join the Sixth Form at this point. Please contact the school as soon as possible. Allocation of places at this point will depend on availability of places and whether we can provide the subject combination you want.
Yes, of course! We have an Open Evening, specifically for prospective Sixth Form students in the autumn term. If you miss this or can’t make it, please contact the school and we can arrange for you to visit.
Worrying about changing schools is normal! We will do all we can to reassure you. Our Sixth Form team are highly experienced in supporting students and we have a programme of support for all students who are new to the school so that you feel confident and empowered from the moment you walk through the doors.
Yes! If you want to be in a form group with them, let us know after all, we want you to be confident and comfortable in school.
