Our outstanding sixth form is much more than just its academic success. We are incredibly proud of the many extra-curricular activities and student leadership opportunities we offer in the sixth form. Our students flourish as a result of these opportunities: exploring creative boundaries, finding joy in new pursuits and developing teamwork.
We have a highly active music department who regularly host concerts at school but also perform at local venues throughout the Wirral and Merseyside. Some annual highlights include the classical concert and jazz night.
Our drama department are also busy throughout the year with a school show and evening performances. We also team up with Wirral Grammar School for Boys for the annual musical production which was Fame in 2024.

We also run a level 3 sports leaders qualification which is worth 16 UCAS points. The students help to deliver extra curricular sessions, coach our younger students and officiate matches. We currently have sports leaders supporting netball, volleyball, dance, trampolining and gymnastics sessions.
As a department we also run trips that are open to the sixth form. We run an annual ski trip to Austria every February. The students get the opportunity to ski in several different ski resorts including Radstadt, FlachauWinkl, Zauchansee and Wagrain. Other activities also include tobogganing, tubing, riding an alpine rollercoaster and visiting a thermal spa.
We run a bi-annual sports tour, previous locations include Barbados, Australia and Malaysia. The students have the opportunity to play netball and volleyball against local school teams, experience new cultures and visit fantastic tourist locations and natural wonders.
Our sixth form students have been highly successful in the annual Bar Mock Trial competition where students compete against other schools in a courtroom. We regularly make it to the national final and have been national champions twice, most recently in 2023.
We also successfully run a Rotary Interact Club each year, in Year 12. This gives students an opportunity to work together to create positive action in either the local, national or international sphere. This is supported by our local Rotary Club who provide help and support in running meetings and supporting the projects that the club wishes to run. Recently, the Interact Club has arranged for bras to be sent to refugees, arranged a project challenging period poverty and arranged a book swap for local primary school pupils.
There are many more extra-curricular activities which you can find out more about at our Sixth Form Choices/Open Evening.
