Trips and Visits

Our students are able to go on some amazing trips during their time at our sixth form enhancing their experience in the classroom.

These subject trips have recently included New York for our mathematics students, Iceland for our geography students, Rome for our religious studies students and an inspirational countryside retreat for our English literature students. There have been additional day trips to Parliament, theatre trips and a business trip to London.

Our post-18 progression guidance also gives students the opportunity to experience universities and the workplace. We attend the UCAS Exhibition to allow students to explore different universities before allowing students to attend open days to experience potential universities. In addition to all year 12 students participating in work experience placements our students have previously participated in an engineering programme which involved students going to University of Liverpool Engineering Department.

Our musicians and athletes also have the opportunity to go on music and sports tours. Our most recent music tour was in Lake Garda in summer 2023 and our volleyball and netball teams are off to Malaysia in summer 2024.

We are very excited for next year’s year 12 students who have the chance to go to Zanzibar in July 2025 for cultural and educational experiences. We are looking forward to making this an annual opportunity for our sixth form students.

We also welcome many people to school to deliver talks and presentations to students as part of our personal development programme. These have included talks about the workings of Parliament and the Bank of England, and educational sessions from Dementia Friends and motivational speakers.

Those in receipt of the Post-16 Student Bursary are able to access financial support to help with trips and visits as we do not wish financial constraints to hold students back. The amount available will depend on the cost of the trip and if it is a curriculum requirement.
